Makeup is all about drama. It creates a few different looks for you that allow you to show different sides of your personality. It also lets you adapt to different fashion styles, complementing each outfit with the look that fits it. Personally, the eyeliner remains to be my favorite. With it alone, you could add so much drama to any look, making the belief that the eyes are the window to the soul a reality.

If you haven’t really taken a lot of time to perfect the way you apply your eyeliner before, it is never too late to learn. Let’s start by looking at the different kinds of eyeliner:

Pencil Eyeliner

If you do not have a steady hand, the pencil eyeliner will work best for you. Although its look is more subtle, it is definitely a whole lot easier to control compared to other forms of eyeliner. If you want clearly defined lines without going over the top, powder-based pencil liners are perfect for you. You could also go for wax-based pencil eyeliners if you are going for that smoky look. There are pencil eyeliners made of kohl as well which are perfect for night-outs.

Liquid Eyeliner

Gel and Cream Liners

With proper practice, the gel or cream liner can become easier to manage than liquid eyeliners. It does not dry as quickly, but has the power to stay on your lids for as long as you need it.

Cake Eyeliner

Cake liners are perfect for blending, which is great for getting smoky eyes. It also has the same staying power as gel and cream liners.

If you are not quite an expert with eyeliners yet, I’d say a pencil eyeliner would be your best bet. These will give you the drama you are looking for as you work your way towards perfecting those lines and moving on to other eyeliner types.
