Summer is here and it’s time to bust out the polish! Nothing compliments a beautiful sunny day better than some glossy nails, and these trendy colors are the perfect touch to liven up any outfit. Whether you choose to be a poolside goddess or a beautiful beach bum, the right polish will help you step your style game up.

The key to this season’s nail trends are to keep it colorful. Blues, greens, pinks, purples and yellows are all your friend this summer! There are really three different big trends to choose from when it comes to color: pastel; washed out neon; or vibrant, bright shades.

The pastel colors on trend this season add a great, girly flare to any outfit. Pastel pink with a cute floral dress would display your feminine side while still looking super trendy. Ciaté London has some beautiful pale pink shades available, and check out Trust Fund Beautiful’s Elegantly Wasted shade of muted purple. Both polishes are available for just $15!

Washed Out Neon
This trend takes super bright neon colors and neutralizes them just a little, taking away a little brightness but leaving shades that will enhance any outfit. Essie’s great Chillato shade, which looks almost like creamy lemonade, is available for only $8.50 and would look amazing with a preppy athletica-inspired outfit of a white pleated skirt and smart sneakers. KBShimmer also has a whole line devoted to this trend with shades available for just $7.50 (the faded orange Leggo My Mango is my favorite).

This trend will definitely make your hands and toes stand out! Light blues, fuschias or blended brights of purple-pink or turquoise are super eye-catching. These colors can complement any outfit, and I think they look best on the toes. Nails Inc Gel Effect’s Seven Dials shade is a beautiful, sunny shade of yellow that will keep you shining all day long for only $15, and Dolce & Gabbana’s Nail Lacquer in Light Blue is a brilliant shade of blue that’s perfect for summer, though it’s a bit pricier at $25.50.

So go get your mani/pedi on and show off those colors in the summer sun!
